Even thought it is cold and dreary out, our library is bright and cheerful with the colorful artwork of the students! We are so fortunate to have Mrs. Woolsey in our school to expose the children to different artists!
The Second Grade students learned about the Food Chain. They can tell about about producers, consumers and decomposers. They even know what Herbivores, Omnivores and Carnivores are! They shared what they learned by treating the kindergarten class to a puppet show all about, “The Restaurant in the Woods” that they created.
The Third Grade students spent the past few weeks learning about the 5 Senses, the Digestive System, the Circulatory system and more! Ask a Third Grader what you can do to keep your body healthy and how it works!

The Third Grade Sudents at Escalante created animal reports. They did it during Make It Happen Time. This is when students work on Extensio Projects in the Library with Mrs. Haught. She helped them use the library books and computers to find information and create a poster. The students then presented the information to the others and shared what they learned. Thanksgiving Lunch is going to be served at Escalante Valley School on Wednesday November 16. Mrs. Judd is going to serve pumpkin pie, turkey,yams,mashed potatoes, and some other delicious things. Thank you Mrs. Judd and Mrs. Hilliard!
Escalante Valley School’s Fifth Grade Class was chosen from among a number of “art focused” elementary schools in Utah to create the “Utah” block for a national quilt being created by New York’s McVey Elementary School. LilliAnna Riquelme and Ronnie Robinson designed the block as a classroom extension project. LilliAnna commented she had fun learning more about our state, while Ronnie added, “I liked working together as a team.”
